Peony Progress

I know you've been on the edge of your seats so here you go:



I'd say the tallest stalk is about 12 inches. And in other gardening news - it turns out that the mystery plant (which was inherited from the previous owners, butchered by electricians, and salvaged by yours truly) is... well... this perfect specimen:

I too had no idea that was even there, i must agree it is a beautiful sight out there with everything blooming!

Regarding the mystery plant, I have a few thoughts.....how long are those leaves? Are they stiff and waxy? It looks like the flower was tightly bunched together, then opened up into what we see in the lower picture? Is that right?
